Scafell Pike

We set off very early bound for Seathwaite with ABSOLUTELY NO! Idea how hard it would be… We thought it would take 7 hours well WRONG, it took 9 hours!!!

It was SO hard compared to Rushup Edge (which i did a post about)
by that i mean it was like 3x the difficulty, on Scafell Pike the final leg to the summit is mainly loose shards of rock, its the one walk i am never when i say never i mean NEVER doing again, in case you wondering we took the Corridor route!
Statistics
Altitude: 976m
Distance: 16.2km 10.07mi
Conditions: Fairly misty quite warm
Height Gained: 1964m (including ups and downs!)
Distance:19km
Temp: Around 18 degrees Celsius

Driving to Seathwaite, also known as the wettest place in England!

Its only the start, still a long way to go!
Half a kilometer through to walk with a lovely crystal clear river.
Stockley Bridge.
At Styhead Tarn, about 1 and a half hours through.
Did not mean to come on this path it was at a 90 degree slant!
Just after the ‘corridor’ (which is basically scrambling with a 100 foot drop next to you).
The final push to the summit with 3 false summits!!
At the top of Scafell Pike!!
Going down the very steep slope just a bit away from the summit, worst part was the steep uphill in front of you is what we had to go up, i must say not much fun!
The first bit of snow right after the boulder fields!
I must say the views were incredible!
The beautiful waterfall with clear water as well.

Almost there!

  1. Well done, I am really impressed with you all. All that training was worth it, easy for me to say as I sit on my verandah having my morning coffee😀. Truely I would have loved to have been there too 😘
